According to the PAGASA, Typhoon Kabayan was located based on satellite and surface data at 1,140 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes at 10:00 a.m., today. It is packing maximum sustained winds of 165 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 200 kph. It is forecast to move in a North Northwest direction at a rate of 11 kph.
On its Twitter account, the PAGASA said Bagyong Typhoon is "causing rains and thunderstorms over NCR and some parts Zambales Bulacan and Bataan."
The PAGASA also added the following on its latest bulletin:
This weather disturbance is too far to directly affect any part of the country.
Expected to enhance the southwest monsoon over Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Estimated rainfall amount is from 15 – 30 mm per hour within the 700 km diameter of the typhoon.
A Low Pressure Area was estimated at 110 km West Northwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.
