Look Amazing - An hour's drive from Glasgow, The Lodge was originally built in 1864, and occupies a truly spectacular position on the banks of ...Loch Goil.

The main Lodge comprises seven en-suite bedrooms, dining room and living room each individually designed to create warmth whilst being surrounded by sheer luxury. At the bottom of the garden is the self- contained Summerhouse, an intimate retreat to get away from it all; and of course, the Tree House, the alternative dining experience.

The Lodge is unique, our exceptional levels of customer service, paying attention to every detail, is adopted by all our resident staff who strive to make your stay as memorable and enjoyable as possible. We offer the simple things that mean so much like tea/coffee trays in the morning, picnic hampers and rugs during the day and Horlicks/hot chocolate and hot water bottles at night.

The Lodge is an adventure playground for children and we have invested our time in trying to meet their needs by developing an organic children's menu and organising high chairs, cots, car seats and push chairs, making their stay more enjoyable and your stay easier.

Romantic Retreat Scotland

For a truly romantic retreat in Scotland The Lodge on Loch Goil is amongst the best. With a reputation as one of Scotland's best small wedding venues The Lodge also offers accommodation to couples seeking a romantic retreat in Scotland with a difference.

Nestled on the banks of Loch Goil, the main house has seven luxury en-suite rooms with roll-top baths, cashmere throws and organic toiletries, a dramatic living room with a roaring fire and comfy chairs, a candle-lit dining room that oozes elegance and charm and a snug whisky bar - perfect for a wee night cap.

At the foot of The Lodge's landscaped gardens is the Summerhouse, one of the most intimate and romantic retreats in Scotland where you can hear the relaxing sound of the loch lapping against the rocks beneath the private balcony.

For a deliciously lazy afternoon, couples can relax in the stunning Tree House with the Lodge's famous afternoon tea and gaze at the boats passing by with the wood-burning stove adding extra warmth on chillier days.

The Lodge's staff understand the little things that make a big difference to a romantic retreat in Scotland and can serve breakfast in bed and create bespoke picnic hampers to take away as well as delivering hot chocolate and hot water bottles to help you unwind and relax in the evening.

As well as the glorious views across Loch Goil to the imposing mountains beyond, the fresh scent of the sea wafting from the water's edge and the soothing trickle of the burn that tumbles from the hills behind, a visit to The Lodge also guarantees to tantalise the taste buds. The organic menus are replete with locally-sourced meat and seafood combined with herbs and vegetables grown in The Lodge's own kitchen garden to create a true taste of Scotland.

As well as being the perfect location for a romantic retreat in Scotland, The Lodge also welcomes children and babies for couples who like to combine romance with family life. Dogs are also welcome to accompany couples on their romantic retreat to Scotland.
