I am not Sir Ravindra Jadeja, says the man himself

With two runs needed from the final delivery of the match, Ravindra Jadeja thought he had hauled out to third man. Yet, the umpire’s arm was outstretched and Chennai had claimed a four-wicket win over Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk with a ball to spare.

Jadeja was declared Man of the Match for keeping his nerve in the final over. “I’m confident about my batting and have been working very hard with my coaches.”

A lot has been said on the social media on Jadeja getting ‘knighted’ by his teammates. But the 24-year-old shrugged it off as just a ‘prank’.

“The boys were just joking, it’s nothing serious. The most important thing is we got the victory.”
MS Dhoni was a relieved captain after the match. “Our overall performance was good but there are a lot of areas in which we can improve.

“Our bowling in the death overs was poor and our openers (Mike Hussey and Murali Vijay) failed us today. That puts a lot of pressure on the middle-order,” Dhoni said at the post-match presentation.

RCB skipper Virat Kohli looked disappointed but was confident that his side would bounce back in the next match.

“I am disappointed because it was our game to lose in the last six overs. We should have fielded better. But, when Dhoni gets in to the
mood there is nothing you can do to stop him.”

Kohli had no complaints over the no-ball bowled by RP Singh. “Look he has performed very well for us in the last few games. I’m confident he will bounce back.”

“But we need others to perform as well. Our batting revolves around Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and myself but other batsmen need to step up as well.”

RCB pacer Vinay Kumar re-claimed the ‘purple cap’ from Mitchell Johnson as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament so far.
“We bowled really well. The no-ball at the end was unfortunate but we can’t do much about it. We have to pick ourselves up and move forward to the next game,” said the Karnataka lad.
